Ceramic Undercounter Water Filter With Doulton Ultracarb Cartridge

This undersink water filter system features our Doulton Ultracarb three stage cartridge combining the highly efficient filtration properties of ceramic with the enhanced water treatment properties of activated carbon and the heavy metal reduction capabilities of ion exchange media. First Stage: The first stage consists of Doulton sterasyl ceramic which provides genuine sub micron filtration. The cartridge reduces fine particulate matter, bacteria, cysts and turbidity. The incorporation of silver locked within the ceramic structure gives enhanced bacteriostatic and self sterilizing properties. Second stage: An inner core of activated carbon block removes chlorine and organic compounds. Third Stage: Ion exchange resin reduces lead and other heavy metals. A variety of dedicated fittings are placed inside the bore of the element to remove chlorine, bad taste and odor, pesticides, herbicides, industrial solvents lead and other heavy metals. All Doulton ceramic cartridges are bacteriostatic - that is, self sterilizing for bacteriological safe cleaning and handling. Lead and other heavy metal reduction. Quick-connect fittings make for fast, easy installation! Recommended flow rate 0.5 Gallons Per Minute Recommended change frequency 12 months or 1,000 gallons, whichever is sooner. This video shows every step in the installation: Where to place the spigot, drilling through the granite countertop, mounting the filter, and the use of both a push fitting and a ferrule ring fitting to join water supply tube ends. We use a Body Glove filter for this installation, which provides some advantages over a reverse-osmosis system, although as with any filter system, it does not "purify" the water as completely as an RO system. However, the filter system is less expensive, does not produce waste water in the filtering process, and filters on demand - thus providing no opportunity for pre-filtered water to become "stale."
